More Than Great Food — A Family Tradition in Southern Alberta
Spices – East Indian and Nepalese Cuisine is a family-run restaurant serving authentic Indian and Nepalese food across Southern Alberta for over 10 years. Our story began in Okotoks, where we opened as the first and original authentic East Indian restaurant in the Foothills area — known locally as "the authentic Indian restaurant of the Foothills." From those Okotoks roots, we expanded to a second home in the master-planned community of Seton in southeast Calgary, bringing the same beloved recipes to a growing urban neighbourhood.
We believe in doing things right. That means hand-preparing fragrant curries, clay-oven tandoori, hand-folded momos and freshly cooked biryanis, and treating every guest like family. The owner is often on the floor personally serving customers, ensuring every visit — date night, family dinner, birthday celebration or business lunch — feels warm and welcoming.
Our menu features over 50 carefully crafted dishes spanning East Indian classics, Nepalese specialties and an extensive selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. From the first bite of crispy samosas or steamed momos to the last spoonful of rich butter chicken or sizzling Lamb Jaipuri, every dish is made with the same passion at both our Seton (Calgary) and Okotoks locations.
